I know this probably isn't super helpful, but I remember a visitor to this site/board talking abou t how he rigged his machine to accept any and all coins. He did something with a piece of cardboard that he folded/bent in half (so that it resembled a "V" shape) to act as a chute/guide for the coins to roll down on. Maybe if you search through the archives or the examples, you'll get lucky and find it and find it very useful.
