I determined that just showing a theoretical perfect joystick is not good enough for proper explaination of joystick princples.

So I added more info based on my HotRodSE.

LET ME STATE that I do not beleive my idea is as good as a real 4-way joystick. Just that it is good enough for most game play. I do not want to make money off it. I would prefer not even to sell the parts. But I know some people who are interested in it, do not have programmers or the ability to solder directly to an IC.

If we can all agree to disagree and allow various ideas then we will be able to "all just get along"

My personal preference is to incorporate this directly into MAME if possible. If compiling it did not crash for 3 hours and not produce any results. This way those who want to use it could turn it on. Those who don't can turn it off. I would prefer to put it in StretchMAME32, but while I can compile MAME32, the new program just crashes.

So with that I am off to let steam off by putting holes in my wall. Great stress relaxer.

Actually it is so I can put all lights and ceiling fans on different switches so I can complete the remote control automation of my house.

Derrick
