I got a message from Dave, he says he IS right NOW working on the mpg version of the movie file, so that answers ONE question...obviously YES it COULD be played in DOS mode.
Using it as a STARTUP is certainly do-able, but once isn't enough for me. I doubt ArcadeOS would be able to use the movie as a screensaver. I have NO programming experience myself, and wouldn't know how to work it into the front-end. How would you get the movie to play as a SCREENSAVER, to run as an ATTRACT MODE, when the MAME machine is idle?
