: Start at the other end. At the bottom of the stick should be a flat piece of metal shaped like a C that is fit around the joystick shaft. This little peice of metal holds the actuator in question on. Just find a pair of pliers, use them to grab the C in the center and pull it off the shaft. The rest of the joystick should pretty much slide apart once you get that off. It's really easier than it sounds.
