Yes, tapped = threaded (inside thread)

To drill it you must have a lathe for accuracy, otherwise...well, you see the problem. You can't drill directly in the center.

Email me. If nothing else I could sell you one of the shafts I have to complete your project.

: Hi,
: I'm stuck in the exact dilemma described in the DIY you listed. I've already got my OWN spinner, and mouse guts, and everything will be fine, I just need to get the mouse encoder wheel attached to the arcade spinner's metal shaft (can you dig it). The Fultra spinner has a nice hole in it which is exactly what I need! Mine doesn't have a hole. It seems wide enough that I could drill one if I do it carefully enough. Any ideas or helpful hints on drilling the hole? Helpful hints, diameter of the hole on the Fultra spinner (because my mouse encoder wheels look exactly like those in the picture), and what does it means that the hole is "tapped", you mean like it's threaded, or does tapped mean something else? I'd like to be able to keep the encoder wheel securely attached for use but still removeable if I need to dismantle the spinner for some reason. Any helpful ideas are most welcome. Thanks!

: : The Do-it-yourself spinner kits are now available.

: : What is it?
: : It is a Fultra spinner, without the PCB encoder, encoder disc and mounting bracket. While the complete spinner is still the best choice, this allows you to save a few bucks, do a little work and get the spinner you've been wanting!

: : What else do I need?
: : You add mouse guts too it and you've got a complete spinner. Using a MS mouse, I completed one of these in under 20 minutes from start to finish.

: : I've also included a link here to the "How-to" page with pictures and text.
