I made this mistake myself when I first tried hacking a dreamcast controller. I got one of those purple Nyko ones and they SUCK. First off, the buttons are NOT ground based!! they are multiplexed! There is no way to hack this joystick. Better off trying to return it and get anything else (even the standard Dreamcast controller...although its much more difficult to hack the analog sholder buttons).
