I opted for the U3100. As far as the debate between
arcade and pc monitors go I think the main sticking
point is that a standard pc monitor does not have
scanlines like a genuine arcade monitor does. The
beauty of the U3100 is that it has all the benefits
of a pc monitor(plugs straight into your video card,
multi resolution support) plus it has scanlines
so it looks authentic. The U3100 is basically an
arcade monitor designed to work with a pc. If you
set it up as a rotating monitor it will work out well.
This is because it degausses itself after twenty
minutes of being turned off and powered back on.
I have read that vectore games look fairly nice on
it even though it has scanlines. I am very pleased
with mine :-). Now if I can just muster the energy
to finish my control panel I'll be in buisness...
Hope this helps. Also if you do get it order from
Happ because the actual Wells Gardner site lists it
as $50 bucks higher than happ sells it for. Also check
out rocketcade's excellent page for the extra parts you
will need. Click on his partlist link. It is just
the hardware to attach a power coard to the monitor.
