HELP mame shows 3 of the same screen overlapped on my arcade monitor for some games.

when i run some games on my mame cabinet i get a display of 3 to 4 of the same screen overlapping each other making the game unplayable. help how do i fix this? it happens on games like MK. But i have other games running perfectly fine. What could be causing this and how do i fix it?
