: Methinks there will be a third-party market for
: a long time to come selling parallel/serial/etc
: cards as add-ons to dumbed-down computers. Also,
: as most people have a significant investment in
: peripherals that require those ports, I doubt any
: manufacturer worth a darn will eliminate them.

: Probably will be available as options, or they'll
: meet the PC-2000 specs "plus" backwards compatible
: ports...

Good point, since the exsisting game port was not plug and play
compatable with all the inputs that us freaks need then
the usb port will be our future for easy building of our
control projects.

: Should be interesting to see how it pans out...

: : Hi everyone,
: : I read this on www.emuviews.com as a reply to a hotrod
: : story.
: : >Will there be a way to adapt older Hotrod joysticks

: : >future as the 2000 PC specs call for the elimination
: : > of all external

: : I don't care about the hotrod part, it is the elimination
: : of all but the firewire and usb ports that concerns me.
: : It looks like we will all need usb keyboard hacks
: : or happ's usb interface if we ever get new machines for
: : our projects. Why are they trying to turn our pc's into
: : (as Q*bert would say) #@!%ing iMacs? It seems everyone
: : is quite happy with their keyboard encoders and powerramps.
: : Anyone have anything to say on this subject?
