My idea to make an easy switchable (in secs) 4-way adapter for an 8-way joystick.

Hi! I had this brain wave the other day when I was thinking how to turn my 8-way into a 4-way with no screwdriver and back again within seconds.

Here goes (excuse my lack of terminology)...
On my Hotrod each stick has a round disc which fits between the stick and the Hotrod. You can lift that up to see a 15mm (or so) circular hole into the Hotrod.

Now if that circular hole was infact a cross then the joystick would only be able to move 4 ways no?

But what could you use for that? Well how about two rubber semi-circular shapes which jam in either side of the stick. If it was rubber and the crosses axis' were rounded then this would turn into a nice little temporary 4 way device?

Is this a good idea? Has this already been done? Or am I talking bollocks?

I'd love to hear your views of my brainwave.

John King..
