If I would have tried harder, I probally could have saved the original paint job, but still would have to done some touch up work. I deceided to go the laminate route.

Yes, it is thicker than paint or shelf paper, but when you bevil the edge, it will butt up to the T-Molding quite well.

I'm doing both the sides and the control panel with it, and I repainted everything else black. I have Grey laminate, and had thought to use Grey T_Molding, but probally will use the Black-Leather-like stuff it had before, as it tends not to scuff as the non-textured stuff does.

Just my opinion...
