: I ordered a whole bunch of parts and materials in early February, and on February 17th I began construction, using Jeff's Mame Machine for my plans (thanks, Jeff!). The cabinet was finished on March 1st, the TV was mounted the next day, and yesterday (March 9th) my control panel saw first light, to borrow an astronomy term. My dream is almost complete, missing only a TV-out capable computer.
: I can't tell you guys how much fun this has been, but I think you all owe my wife an apology. This became an obession -- I was working 6-7 hours a day on the project almost every day. Special thanks to Mr. Fultra's spinner and Mr. Warne's I-Pac.
: My biggest problem now is that I'm having too much fun playing my games with real controls to spend time speccing out a computer. Anybody got any suggestions for a relatively cheap PC (~$400) that will run a good percentage of the games?
