Are you sure that is the way the Omega Race spinner works? If it were using a POT then the spinner wouldn't go around completely....unless I'm not remembering correctly cant you spin the omega race spinner 360?

That leads me to believe it is optical.


: There may not be any way to wire it up as the optipac probably only supports optical type inputs from trackballs/spinners. The Omega Race spinners are actually using pots similar to a joystick (Or like a light dimmer). You may want to read the FAQ's on the Star Wars yoke as it works in a similar way. You might be able to hook it up to a joystick port if you change the pot to one that is 100k to 150k. Most arcade parts use 5k pots that will not work right when hooked to a PC Joystick port. Hope that helps...I have 2 Omega Race spinners as well and I was going to see if I could use a mouse hack to put an optical encoder wheel and the optical circuit on the spinner in place of the 5k pot.
