This would introduce the same problem as using CHOICE. As long as nothing was touched, everything would be okay. However, if a button was touched, the timer would stop and a selection would have to be made manually. It wouldn't be so bad except that the monitor (arcade monitor) will not be powered up at this point, so there's no way to 'visually' convey this information to the user...

: What about stopping the windows GUI from booting by default (open msdos.sys in C:\ with notepad and change BootGUI=1 to BootGUI=0) and then using a dos menu with a default option and time limit?
