I don't have any plans for a version with any more inputs. There are several other keyboard encoders which do have more! For practical reasons these have header plug connections rather than screw-down.
The I-PAC and Opti-Pac will do the configuration you mention below, as long as you assume that no game uses both a 4-way and 8-way stick at the same time, so they can be wired to the same inputs.
About USB, the actual USB spec contains exact details of interfacing every kind of HID "Human Interface Device" possible. It's all there, from simple buttons to virtual-reality hand-sensor gloves! Trouble is MAME doesnt support any of it so that's that! If and when MAME does support the USB HID spec, I will be ready with a device!
With MAME at present, those 100 inputs would have to all be mapped to key codes which could be fun!

I think it's easy to get carried away with numbers of controls/inputs on a panel! Swappable panels, now thats a good way to go....

: This is my idea for the best arcade experience ever.

: If Ipac made an 100 wire inputs for the ipac we could make 4 player control panels so easy. If you used USB interface it would make it so easy to use/do. You could make a 2 player control panel that had per player: 8 and 4 way joystick each , 8 buttons each, spinners for each player, track ball for each player, steering wheel/tron type jotick for each player. The ideas are endless. If only those people that made the ipac could make an even better ipac with more wire inputs. we can only dream.
