I wouldn't worry about it too much, yet...

In Reply to: Great, just what I wanted to hear. Just "won" a trackball from them off ebay. posted by Agent Davis on 5, 2001 at 3:30 AM:

...I've ordered stuff from him in the past. Although his prices suck IMO, I got the parts quickly and they were exactly as described.

: : I thought that I'd pass along my experience with Drew at Arcadesticks. I could post a lengthy description of the situation, I'd rather just point out a few thing:

: : 1. Drews site, while listing prices, has no way to order on-line or even call in an order. While I've dealt with Bob Roberts in a similar manner, keep in mind that Bob's reputation is spotless while Drew has a track record of not shipping items in a reasonable period of time.

: : 2. Drew only accepts checks and money-orders. OK, fine. But I wish that he would have told me that he'd wait for the check to clear before shipping my items. Nowhere on his website or in his e-mails does he state this. If he's going to try to pass himself off as a legitimate business, he should at least use a check verification service or accept payment from a service like PayPal. I'm supposed to send him money then wait weeks because I might try to rip him off? When was the last time you went into a store and wrote a check for something, then was told you'd have to wait two weeks before you could take the items home?

: : 3. I added 4 trackball bolts to my order, paid for them but never received them. I've e-mailed Drew 6 times since 2/15 and he still hasn't sent me my money back. I ended up buying them from Happ Controls for considerably less than Drew charged, and had them in 2 days. I also received a packing list and receipt from Happ. Drew doesn't even include a copy of the e-mail order to verify that all items listed where shipped.

: : Basically, this guy is a joke. If you shop around, you'll find that most of his items are over-priced. He has a history of bad customer service (just search 'arcadesticks' on Deja.com) and is either extremely disorganized or just a liar. I was really hoping that the transaction would have gone well because I buy lots of parts, but I'll just continue to buy from Happ Controls and Bob Robert. I've never had any problems dealing with them, and always receive what I ordered within days.

: : Drew and Arcadesticks should be avoided. Consider yourself warned!

: : Rick

: : p.s. Drew still owes my friend $35 for a PCB he bought on Ebay back in Jan. His guy is a real loser!
