.....Since I know nothing of this person this is the only thing I will comment on. This should have been common sense on your part to know since it is common practice on the internet or any other mail order to wait for a check to clear. And, no he should not have to use a check verification company or pay-pal since both charge a fee....would you be willing to pay him extra since he has to pay for a service? The normal wait time for checks to clear is 5 to 7 working days but some banks may make you wait up to 10 for out of state checks so his wait period is also legit.
