Thanks for the info. I only had one 220uF cap so I tried this on the red line; pic was better. I managed to find three 470uF so I took a chance and hooked these in - seems to work!

The monitor is a little better now, but the picture still isn't as good as my Rabbit Punch game board and the brightness is still turned quite high which gives the whole picture a kinda blue hue! I am not keen on leaving the brightness turned up this high in case the monitor does not last.

What about if I adjust the gain Pots on the monitor? Would this improve it? I am not sure what the p-p output voltage is for a PC graphics card, but I do know that the gain pots on my arcade monitor can be adjusted for 1 to 5 volts p-p.
