You were right, Fultra, there is no *driver* for DOS. However, some bios have a option called "DOS USB" for using USB keyboards and mice in DOS. You have to look around in your BIOS setings to see if your motherboard supports it. Keep in mind Andy's note about slowdowns.

The "support" is more of a hack than for using full time DOS with USB. The "DOS USB" option is probably intended for when Windows crashes, and you have to restore with DOS. If you were using a USB keyboard, and Windows died, you'd have to find a non-usb keyboard to restore your system if it wasn't for this feature.

: So there *IS* a DOS driver for USB? Could you post where to find it/them? There have been several question previously about this and I replied that it wasn't possible....guess I was wrong.

: Please educate me! :)

: : Yes this is definitely a "feature" of USB in DOS. It is not really supported, as mentioned on my site. Most PC BIOSes do have rudimentary USB DOS keyboard support but is really only for configuring the CMOS menus etc. I have found for some reason that Award Bioses slow down noticeably when using the non-numeric-pad arrow keys. USB is best avoided in DOS and is really only for Windows use. This problem will not happen in Windows.

: : : I have my IPAC hooked up using a USB cable. i have noticed significant amount of slowdown. When I unplug it, it goes away. When I plug it in and press a button, it imediatly starts skiping frames. Could this be because i am using USB (in pure DOS), or because I am using an extension cable? I
