Anyone ever use pushbutton identification tags?

Saw these at Happs and wondered about them. Do they snap on over the top of standard pushbuttons, or do you put them on top of the panel, but under the pushbutton? Or am I completely off and you use them on the inside of the panel?

Was trying to think of a way to utilize these with some tiny laminate labels or something that you could just stick on and then peel off and move around as needed. Of course, I guess that all depends on your control panel color, as you wouldn't be able to read them unless you had a lighter color in the background. Or you could always just stick the labels directly on your panel anyway, without the need of tags, but I was thinking about use with a Hotrod, which labels might not adhere to that easily.

Anyway, what the heck are they for and anyone have a picture of them in action?
