A minor clarification on my previous post, the game boots, but won't play if it doesn't see an analog control (this is SSX I'm talking about on a PS2).

Thus, if you are looking to hack a Playstation controller, I suggest getting a newer PS2 3rd party controller. Should work on both units just fine.

: I only see one compatibility problem between PS1/PSX and the PS2, and that is some games require analog support right when they boot...if you have an old PSX pad and try booting up SSX on a PS2, it won't work. If you use the newer PSX dual shock, it works fine. It just needs to recognize some sort of analog support.
