Hi, anyone know how to check a PS2 port out?
Here's my story. I bought a Hotrod SE. This plugs into the PS2 port but has a keyboard thru so that you can have both running at once. Problem is that they dont work together. I have to hot-swap the joystick whenever I want to use MAME. Then hot-swap back for the keyboard. Dangerous, I know.
When I boot up with the Hotrod I get the message "Keyboard Error or Keyboard not plugged in" during the disk initialisation bit - before Windows kicks in.
I thought there was a problem with the HOTROD and they sent me a new encoder in 2 days, great! But it didn't work :(
I took the HOTROD round to two friends and it worked fine. The problem was therefore with my PC.
I checked the motherboard's makers site, SHUTTLE, and nobody else with the board had had any PS2 problem. Its an Intel 440BX - SpaceWalker.
Now, I think it could be two things.
1. A dodgy Power Supply or
2. A dodgy motherboard.
Any idea how I should attempt to solve this problem? I can't seem to check the power supply as there's no easy places for my multi-meter to go.
All types of solution are very very welcome.
Thanks.
