Include a link for reference and it might be easier for us to compare for you, but just based on what you've said, it sounds like the KBE-1 is set up into a fixed 16x8 matrix, whereas the LP24 and KE24 from Hagstrom are configurable so I think most of us use them in 22x2 matrices. The KBE-1 may also have the keys already mapped out in the matrix and unchangeable whereas LP24 and KE24 are programmable.
