In Reply to: Does anyone know if ArcadeOS can be customised to shut the computer down after exit? posted by alan on 26, 2001 at 9:09 AM:
: This would save the time and effort switching VGA leads in order to get back into windows to shut it down from the START menu. Suggestions?
: Also, I own two jamma cabinets. One is converted to mame. There is a noticable difference in sound quality from both cabinets, with the original cabinet sounding far better. Sound is a very important part of the game for me. The sound card that I'm using is a generic soundblaster compatible 32bit card ($25). I can hear quite a lot of noise from the output of the card even in windows with nothing else running. Is this typical of all soundcards, or just cheaper ones?
: How do you wire your sound to the cabinet? Do you use a seperate amp or just use PC speakers? If you use a seperate amp, do you have to plug it in sepeately or can you run it off the 12volt supply to the jamma cabinet?
: So many questions...but I'm nearly there.
: All answers greatly appreciated.
: Alan.

My machine is configured to boot up, throw a switch on in autoexec.bat, run arcadeos, and when it exits, runs poweroff.exe, which automatically shuts down the machine. You should be able to find a copy on the web, just search around.
