Hi, Im also working on a Jamma fingerboard on my Sega Astro City 2. it sounds like you are doing the same thing Im doing, I took an old vga cable and cut it, and soldered the corresponding pins to the finger board. at first I got a blue screen with black lines. then I switched the h+v sync wires to the other side and I didnt have r,g,b & h,v syncs in the right place. so I moved them to the right places and Im able to see mame in Dos and all the colors look right and I can see the game but the monitor is still really dark and there are alot of scanlines on the screen going up and down and left and right. so Im kinda close to getting a picture on my cabinet but I still can't get a perfect picture thought I can see what game is running. but I have to use dos mame and I typed mame ddragonb -monitor arcade. that seems to be the closest ive got to a clear picture. and I downloaded and tried Arcadeos but its alot fuzzier than dos mame, I still have to figure out all of the switches. so.. I have the fingerboard wired up with the main things like r/g/b/ h/v syncs. but I when i wire the grounds it helps a little bit with the scrolling but picture is still dark and lots of lines still. I need some help and need to know the right mame commands in dos. also... somebody mentioned to me earlier on irc #rgvac that VGA cards don't put out 31khz and puts out 15khz.. and he told me I would need a rate doubler or something to see my games or else it won't work. but he also said he doesn't own a cab and just knows alot about mame.
so If anyone out there can read this, please post some help for us Jap cab owners. my monitor is also a nanao 29".
