You might also want to go into the mouse control panel & turn off mouse acceleration. (Assuming you are running windows)
Mouse acceleration makes games like Arkanoid hard to control.

: Today I picked up a Wico Spinner Control to try to add to my control panel. I figured it wouldn't be too difficult. After noticing that the control only has the output from the optics I opend up an extra mouse. All I needed to do to get it to work was give it 5V & Grnd and I then hooked the 2 remaining spinner connectors to the x-axis optics of the mouse. Works great so far but I have not yet tried all the games in MAME that would use a spinner. Hopefully the game settings in MAME will be all I need to make this work for each game.
