What chipset is the onboard sound using? My previous motherboard in my cabinet worked with everything BUT MAME....eventually, I found that I could use VsyncMAME because it supports many more audio chipsets than regular MAME so you may want to give that a try. I don't have the url handy (just reinstalled my regular pc) but I'll try to find it if you need it.

That said, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent soundcard for dos mame...pci or isa as the current one I'm using (an original sb) doesn't seem to support other emu's but seems to work with MAME. I'm going to a computer swap meet next weekend and can probably pickup any kind of card...I just want one with decent dos drivers.

: Just got a new system up and running to replace the old 233mmx in my cabinet. The new system has on-board sound and video. I'm going to slap my ATI video card in it to take care of the video end but I don't have a spare PCI soundcard. Problem is the on-board sound isn't compatible with SB programs, i.e. can't get anything from MAME, Nesticle etc to play sound. I thought once there was something posted about a tweak to get around that problem? If so, could someone please post it again? If anyone needs a good SB-64 AGP soundcard, I'll trade you for a PCI card. :=)

: Thanks for any info and as always - Game On!
