So what should I do? Stick with the ol' TV and S-Video, buy the XRGB-2 and a large SVGA monitor, or get a large RGB monitor and just use RGB cables? Also, what monitor produces the best picture on its own, despite RGB connections and the like? I need a perfect picture for my old NES and VCR, but at the same time I want to utilize RGB connections with my newer systems and DVD player. I thought the XRGB-2 was the answer to this, but maybe I'm wrong.

As far as MAME goes I have no clue anymore what is the best picture, I guess I'll just keep an old monitor for it and concentrate more on a video card rather than a monitor.

Thanks

: XRGB-2 with a VGA monitor doesn't look so hot for games that use interlaced video, like all PS2 games, some PSOne games, etc. None of the games look good if you don't use an RGB cable. If you're using an RGB cable, you might as well use an RGB monitor.

: I'd say the best quality picture you'll get would be from a nice SVGA TV that will sync down to 15.75 KHz for the console systems using RGB cables. Having SVGA will make Dreamcast and PC games look amazing. RCA makes some nice ones like that.
