When I first started my ISP business (way back before anyone even heard of WWW) we used serial ports to support our modems. As the business grew we ran out of ports so special hardware came into play. I still have some stuff in my attic that supports 96 serial ports on one computer. I wonder how big my control panel would have to be for 96-player Marble Madness?
