Hey everyone. I'm trying to figure out what is the best and cheapest trackball alternative that one can find. I'm trying for the best arcade like quality at the cheapest price. I cannot afford to spend $80 on a trackball and would like everyones thoughts.

1) Kidsball. Many people have said this felt too cheap and its performance was iffy. The biggest pluses to this trackball is that it has a 3 inch ball and you can just plug it right in. Now, what if one took a real 3" trackball (just the ball) and replaced the ugly yellow one? Would that help? Comments?

2) Playstation trackball. These were once available for $4 but I can no longer find them at that price. These would also require hacking mouse guts.

3) Atari trackball. These are 2 1/4" in size and I've heard have a very arcade-like feel to them. These would also require hacking a mouse to.

4) CompUSA Crystal Trackball. At $20 these seem like a good alternative. Just plug and go. Apparently these balls are smaller then the 2 1/4" size though making them have the least realistic feel.

Any comments people? Spending $20-$30 is much more appealing to me then spending $80. I just want to save some bucks!
