It was daves video game classics site that turned me on to the MAME project in 1997. I was looking for Donkey Kong after a game called Ckong I downloaded asked me for $20.00 after the 5th level. I knew there had to be a better copy of Donkey Kong out there and I was amazed when I found out about mame. My girl did not see me for about 2 weeks after that :-). At that time MAME supported about 300 games. As I recall Dave had a little problem with the Sony corporation for posting the bios to the playstation on his site. His site went down with a note about the lawsuit and was converted to The Vintage Gaming Network. I still visit every once and a while but the site is not nearly as good as it once was. Now there are pop ups and other annoyances that keep me away. And the message board is no good anymore. Now when I am not playing games on my machine I visit this board and love the maturity and information available here.

: Does anyone happen what happened to this great site? The IDSA came down hard on him (Dave) a few years back and he had to change the name of the site a few times. Anyone know what happened to the site. Or the man?

: Out or retirement to play D&D tower of doom and D&D Shadow over Mystara. The amount of money my mates an I spent on these two games, we could have bought the machines easy!
