Coin door tips: pinball vs. 4-player

I'm converting an old Asteroids cabinet and the coin doors that came with it are falling apart. I was thinking of using the Happ 4-player coin door or the 2-player pinball door.

Has anyone had any direct experience with either one of these? Neither one fits perfectly into the original hole. Is there a standard size for doors, or are they different per game? Any tips for fitting a coin door into a different hole size without it looking like a hack job?
