madcatz hack question

is the only thing you have to do is solder the 2 wires to each spot, the ground and button function, im pretty sure thats all i have to do. another thing, is there a way i can mount the controller top because i want to be able to use a memory card during the game. can anyone think of a way to disconnect the top part the memory cards fit into od do you have to leave them attached to the pcb. i want to take it off but i need to know if i can hook it up with wires to the pcb before i do. the way the pad is shaped i cant think of a way to mount it with it attached so i can still insert memory cards. thanks for and ideas.
