Hi, I got the HOTROD SE the other day and I've haven't been able to get the keyboard thru to work properly. Both Keyboard and HOTROD work fine independently but never together (Even at BIOS stage - not just Windows).

Hanaho sent me a replacement matrix but still the same problem. I tried the combination on my old PC at it seemed to work there so I assume that my PC is to blame. Can anyone tell me if there are power problems with P/S2 ports occasionally?

Would a splitter work or is that just what's inside the HOTROD anyway so it will have the same effect? I could get a USB keyboard but then I would still not be able to use both in MAME would I?

The BIOS error message that comes up after checking my drives is "Keyboard error or keyboard not pluged in".

That only leaves a few causes. 1) maybe there's not enough power going into my P/S2 port to power both, 2) maybe I need to change some jumpers or dip switch settings, 3) maybe there's not enough power for all the drives, sound cards, etc. (It could be overloaded.)

Maybe I can turn a com port into a P/S2 port which will have better power. Hmmm.

I've looked at the CMOS settings and none seem to have power details. I dont think its keyboard drivers or anything.

Any help appreciated.

My set up is a PIII, with an Intel 440-BX AGP, 128MB RAM, Win 98.

Cheers.

John King..
