That reminds me of the other comparison I forgot...I haven't tried ANY happs sticks, but the question was posed before and someone who tried the Happys rotary said it feels fine as a normal 8 way joystick, and I have my own experience with the yello octagonal LS30's, they are fine for the rotary games as far as the directionals (ie the yellow joysticks move the Ikari and other rotary game characters around the screen with good response), but when I tried using those LS30s for Contra, I found it very hard to get the diagonals to work...it was almost impossible to fire up and down diagonally.

Even knowing this, I think the guy who tested the Happs rotary said even though they work well, he still wanted to build a dedicated Yellow joystick control panel for those rotary games. I wouldn't go that far for my own needs, any mechanical rotary stick is good for me, it's just how nostalgic you desire to be...but if you're going mechanical I'd go with Happs Ikari 12 positions based on the things I heard.

Overall even if the Happs rotarys didn't feel right in normal gameplay to me, I'd still HAVE to have a separate rotary joystick panel just for the rotary games, I love them so much.
