Marquee Okay to Laminate??? Need Quick Answer Please!!!

I am having a marquee I designed printed at Kinkos, becasue its an oversized color print they say I cant get it done on glossy card stock but will be done on regular paper. My question is should I let them laminate it or will that stop the light from shinning through the back.
