Buy some 25 pin (DB25) serial cables (male on one side female on the other) and cut them in half. Crimp .187 quick disconnects (get these from Bob or from Happs) on the wires on one side and hook the other wires to your Ipac. Then just connect the male/female DB25's together. This lets you easily disconnect the Ipac from your control panel. This method has worked great for me and many others on here. BTW, I use DB25 cables for all my Ipac and Hagstrom controllers and DB9 (9 pin serial cables - like what is on your mouse) cables on everything else. That way, when I look into my machine I can tell if I am disconnecting my ipac from my buttons/joysticks or my optipac+ from my spinner/trackball. in the picture below you can see (kind of) two bundles of wires. One bundle comes from all the "player1" joysticks/buttons and the other bundle comes from all the "player2" joysticks/buttons. The bundles were made by stripping the insulation off the first 2'-3' of two separate DB25 cables. This not only lets me quick disconnect my panel from my controller BUT also lets me (since I have the ends of the DB25 marked #1 and #2) swap this panel to my other arcade machine and ensures that I have the joysticks/buttons going to the correct player. BTW, the wires are hooked to the wood by using a staple gun and tie wraps. I just staple the tie wrap to the wood and then secure the wires with it. Good luck (and sorry for the poor picture - might try to upload a better one later).
