I've also been using the Xpert@play on my 36" TV.
S-Video is the best way to use it and altough images are not as "crisp" as true arcade monitors (games with sharp edges show some color bleeding), you can adjust card settings to minimize bleeding and have a close emulation. For vector games I had to tweak the card settings until I obtained an acceptable (even good)image. You can even reduce jitter using the included setup programs. One interesting tip: if you run your games with scan lines, the average brightness of the image will decrease and will reduce some of the bleeding.
If you want to play DVD's, you may need a dedicated DVD decoder card. I play DVD's using a Creative DX3 decoder card which just mixes the video out of the Xpert with the output of the Creative decoder card.
