Questions about using Laminate instead of paint for an arcade cabinet

I've got a questions about using Laminate instead of paint. I've got the laminet. But cutting the stuff has been a disaster. How do you cut the stuff without it breaking?

And after I get it glued to my cabinet, what do I use to trim the edges?
