My new arcade cabinet

Several people had been asking (bugging ) me to put up a few pictures of my new machine and update my web page a little. Well, I spent a little (very little) time on the page and actually have some pictures now. Since I don't have a digital camera any longer updates take a while (and it doesn't help that I am extremely lazy). Anyway, some quick info for you:

I already built one machine with a 25" horizontal arcade monitor and found that I could not play any of the old vertical games (pacman, centipede, etc). So I purchased an old MERCS cabinet with a 25" vertical monitor and started working on it. The idea was to have multiple control panels (that could be used on either one of my cabinets). I have most of the parts to build the panels and will post pictures/results when I get them finished. So far I have a tron/centipede (spinner/trackball) control panel and have started on my driving (steering wheel and 4 speed shifter) control panel. You can see some (lousy) pictures if you click on the link below. If you have any questions at all please let me know - I do not mind helping.

BTW, the layout on my tron control panel works GREAT! I would highly suggest following this pattern if you are building a vertical cab. robert mcelwee 2/12/2001 (0)
