I would recommend mounting a trackball plate over your trackball. The plate for the 2 1/4" trackball is 6"x6", while the plate for the larger 3" trackball is 6.5"x6.5". Therefore, you're not really giving up that much more room by going with the larger trackball.
: How much free room do you recommend around a trackball? A spinner? I figure I want enough to be comfortable and get a good spin if needed, and I'm sure I'll figure out how much that is when the trackball arrives, but while I'm still planning and playing around with designs, what are peoples opinions?
