I discovered something when I hooked up the 1st of my two control panels for testing. I had wired everything exactly backwards. Joystick 1 was Joystick 2, Player 1 Start was Player 2 start, etc. Even the buttons I have for Escape and Enter were reversed. I'm not sure what I did in the wiring process that resulted in this, but fortunately I am using the Hagstrom LP24, so I just reprogrammed the encoder.
I felt like an idiot, but no major damage done. :-)
