here is the problem. even though you will only have one pad plugged in to each console at a time there can still be interference or backfeed from the circuits in the gamepad. I built a cab once with 3 arcade circuit boards (Kung-Fu Master, Crazy Climber and Track and Field.) Everything was switch....power lines, monitor lines, speaker lines....but I didnt switch all of the control lines at first. When I would play Crazy Climber it worked fine as well as Track and Field.....but Kung Fu Master the player would continuously jump if the Crazy Climber controls were hooked up in parallel because of the interference from the circuits in the CC board.

So in short there is no way to really know unless you try it.

It might work and it might not.....if it doesnt you have to use a switching setup to select between the 2 consoles. You can use a printer switchbox with db25 connectors to achieve this. You will be able to switch 25 lines at once. Or if you would need more you can use a Centronics switchbox that switches 36 lines.

: Alright you circuit wizards. I need you to take a look at this schematic and tell me if this can work. What I'm thinking of doing is making two pads hacks from two different systems and wiring them up together. Only one would be plugged in at a time though. What I am doing is wiring one hot connection to the equivalent button on the other system's pad, then to the switch. I would also have a ground connection wired to both pads and daisy chained across the switches. Look at the picture, it should make more sense.

: This will work, right?
