U running DOS mame or MAME32? If you are trying DOS mame, get MAME32.

Mame32 doesn't require VESA drivers....

: I'm trying to run MAME at work (during non-business hours, of course), but it won't start because it can't find a VESA mode. I have NT Workstation 4 and an ATI 3D Rage Pro video card. I can't access the device manager because I am not the admin on my workstation, so I can't change the drivers or device setup (although I can change my display colors, resolution, and refresh rate). I read in the FAQ at the official MAME site that you don't need a VESA mode to run MAME, but they don't say how this is done.

: Any specifics from someone who is running MAME on NT 4 (at the DOS command prompt) with no VESA support would be greatly appreciated.
