: Yes, this problem is easily fixable. What likely happened is that, during a move, the rubber wedges holding the monitor yoke in place moved slightly, changing the slight orientation of the picture. (IE: the beams get all skewed in one direction). I figured this out because my monitor had this problem, along with purity and convergence problems, when I got it up and running.

: *Disclaimer* what you likely need to do is adjust the yoke at the back of the monitor. This *will* involve both discharging the CRT, and farting around with the yoke with the CRT charged, so if you have any serious doubts about this process, get a qualified repair person to do it for you. I did this myself, having known nothing about the process, and in the end it was quite rewarding. I'm not going to recommend that for everyone, though.

: Don't know what the yoke is? How to adjust it? how to set the colour and purity rings? I found this wonderful document that leads one through the whole thing. Its at http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Station/3975/convergence.html .

: It shows how to set colour, purity, divergence, and how to adjust other problems. If your picture otherwise looks fine outside of the geometry, then the yoke likely just needs to move left and right, or up and down, but not in or out. If you move it in or out, you might have to adjust all of the purity rings when you're done. Not such a bad thing- Ultimately, I ended up with a picture quality that I could have only dreamed of when I bought my dusty old cabinet.

: I hope this helps.
: : Hello All:

: : I have an old arcade monitor (from a Pole Position machine) vertical in my cabinet. The problem is, I have the dreaded 'trapezoid image' starting large on the left (top if horizontal) and smaller on the right (bottom if horizontal). Has anyone been able to fix this kind of problem?

: : Thanks in advance for your help
