I just thought I would share some ideas that often struck me too late to be useful on the cabinet I was working on...

If you are using a genuine arcade cab...all those little screws that are flat head 1/4" hex heads...just take the bit out of a multi-bit driver and the driver alone will work...it is basically a 1/4" driver (took me til the 3rd cab to figure this out...)

When drilling to mount a joystick...always drill from the underside...so the holes will line up...also I have found it easiest to lay out the hole for the stick and just one bolt hole. After drilling those 2...drop the bolt through the joystick base and into the hole from the bottom of the panel. Then square up the joystick base and drill the hole that is diagonal from the already drilled hole...you only have to start it... Then remove the base and bolt and drill the hole. Then do the same thing....dropping both bolts in and start the remaining 2 holes. Every time I tried to lay all 4 holes out and drill, one would always be off.

If you are using wood for the panel then use a 1 1/8" speed bore to drill your button holes as well as the stick hole for the joystick. A speed bore (spade bit) makes quick work of wood. I was using a hole saw and I had to push with all I had (235 lbs) to get it to go through...then getting the pieces out of the hole saw was a real pain. The big bonus us that speed bores are much cheaper than hole saws.

That's it for now...I will add more later.
