You say that they use rotary joysticks? How do these joysticks work? I've seen a Forgotten Worlds cabinet and, if my eyes have not betrayed me, it uses spinners for rotating the character. : : Forgotten Worlds uses a separate stick and spinner, but can also be operated with a rotary stick and separate firebutton. It's not Autocad but it's more than enought for me. These have not exact dimenssions, since I have not checked out the sizes of trackballs and spinners. The designs in Coreldraw were exported to bmp and resized with Photoshop and converted to JPG. The drawings are mere sketches.
