: : Wow thanks for the information. I'm not a great fan of old games from the eighties, so I haven't played some of the titles you mention.

: You have much to learn, young grasshopper... :-)

:
: : My main interests are shooters, fighting games, platform games.. which are all traditional games in terms of controls. My original proyect was a panel with just one stick and 6 buttons. For this I had enought with a PSX pad hack.

: I'm sure you could waste (spend) many years just enjoying these more conventional games, even without a second simultaneous player to share the fun with.

:
: : Now I'm considering the possiblity of building a 2 player control panel. Spiner and trackballs are secodary controls for me. I didn't even know that there are games which use two trackballs or two spinners (or are they for 2 players plays?). I guess you mean 2 players plays, because I don't really know any game that uses 2 trackballs or two spinners for just one player.

: Yes, I mean two-player-simultaneous controls.

: You have never experienced spinners as primary controls until you have tried to play Breakout-style games with plain digital joysticks. :-P

:
: : Well, there's robotron, which uses 2 sticks, doesn't it?

: More games with dual sticks:
: ==============================
: Black Widow
: Cloak & Dagger
: Crazy Climber
: Crazy Climber 2
: Krull
: Lost Tomb
: [Robotron 2084]
: Smash TV (two sets)
: Space Dungeon
: Total Carnage (two sets)

: You didn't bother visiting my page, did you?

:
: : The problem with games such as Forgotten Worlds or Irari Warriors is more important for me, since I intend to play those games. You say that they use rotary joysticks? How do these joysticks work? I've seen a Forgotten Worlds cabinet and, if my eyes have not betrayed me, it uses spinners for rotating the character.

: Forgotten Worlds uses a separate stick and spinner, but can also be operated with a rotary stick and separate firebutton. Rotary sticks move in the usual eight compass directions, but also rotate around their Z-axis.

: Games using rotary sticks:
: ============================
: Caliber 50
: Forgotten Worlds (not original layout)
: Guerrilla War
: Heavy Barrel
: Ikari III?
: Ikari Warriors
: Midnight Resistance
: SAR - Search and Rescue
: Time Soldiers
: TNK
: Victory Road

:
: : This pics are made with Coreldraw. It's not Autocad but it's more than enought for me. These have not exact dimenssions, since I have not checked out the sizes of trackballs and spinners. The designs in Coreldraw were exported to bmp and resized with Photoshop and converted to JPG. The drawings are mere sketches. If you want to see a pic already finished check my original proyect, where I can show you what can be done with Photoshop: http://perso.wanadoo.es/havelok/Blackstar%20Arcade.jpg

:
: OK, will check it out.

: Have you had a good laugh at my original response to your post?
