Raven,

Look at DHansen's cabinet at www.doughansen.net/arcade for slightly different approach. Doug used black laminate for his cabinet and it looks unbelievably clean. No paint stripping and it really looks like it rolled right off the showroom floor. Easy to do also and very easy on the pocketbook also.

Just a thought...

: I've got a question for everyone. I'm about to start working on my cabinet. I've designed my preliminary control panel. I'm about to start buying all of my controls from Happs. My I-Pac is in the mail... Been in the mail for three weeks... I hope it gets here soon.... But that's another story...

: My question is about removing the paint on my cabinet. I have an old Williams cabinet. It was converted to 2020 Baseball. It may have been a defender, joust, etc at one point. I got the cab for free, with almost nothing in it. I did get a used LEAF 4 directional joystick with the cabinet. Which I plan to use as a second player one joystick.

: The current cabinet's paint is in pretty good shape. I need to do some work on the bottom of the cabinet. But even the T-Molding is in good shape. I have a Stargate bezel.

: Basically I've plan everything but the cabinet's paint.

: Question 1 - If I fill the few scratches, and just repaint without stripping the original paint, how will this look? Will the paint peel? The current paint job has not peeled, and is fair shape. Just a few scratches.

: Question 2 - What is the easiest way to strip the cabinet. I live in an apartment, so I really can get out the belt sander very easiliy. So I was considering using paint thinner and scrubbing the paint off. Then light hand sanding the rest.
