Monitor rotation

I know this is more of an ArcadeOS specific question, but I figured I'd try here as well.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a 19" vertical monitor that I want to run horizontal and vertical games on (I know the horizontals will be squished, but I'll live with it).
I have ArcadeOS set to Display All Roms.
The AOS Default Config has auto-rotate set to none.
FlipX and FlipY are both set to Yes. This with some pushing of the space bar got ArcadeOS oriented right.
A vertical game is listed with a -L. When I run it, it starts vertical, but upside-down. I use the Ctrl key to change it to -X and it comes up fine.
A horizontal game is listed with a -H. When I run it, it comes up vertical. Using Ctrl does nothing to fix the orientation, nor does the Auto Rotate setting in ArcadeOS.

How can I get this to work? Am I doomed to running just the vertical games on this monitor? What should my options/settings be to have ArcadeOS cme up vertical (with the bottom of the monitor on the right) and all
games run right?
