I gave up on OCR when I first tried it in 1998 and found I had to go through the trouble of reading the entire text and fix the errors manually...a big factor in things like this where every character counts in technical details...and it was only really scanned for one person who requested it, which answers the second question - someone wanted a way to use 8bit nes controllers and there you have it. I still have my own 8bit controllers and I wouldn't mind using them just for nostalgia. they used to hurt after a while back in the day, but I don't mind!
